Oak Bridge K-5 provides independent study to Kindergarten through 5th grade students in the Chico Unified School District. We offer a traditional independent study.
Traditional independent study requires the parent and student to meet their teacher in-person once a week to review weekly progress and assess.

What is Expected of Parents at Oak Bridge K-5?
Because of the increased autonomy and self-motivation required to be successful in an independent study program, parent involvement is generally a key indicator of a successful school experience. Studies show that there is a direct positive correlation between parent involvement and student success. Simply put, independent study work better when parents take an active role in their child’s education. A parents role is to provide daily/weekly monitoring and assistance, encouragment, and motivation.
