Frequently Asked Questions

Are Chico students enrolled in Oak Bridge allowed to take classes at other CUSD schools?

Oak Bridge students may also take classes at Chico High or Pleasant Valley High. Both comprehensive high schools have award-winning Career and Technical (CTE) programs and highly regarded Music and Arts programs; we want Chico Unified students to have the best education they can find to fit their needs and interests.

Oak Bridge students may also take classes at Marsh Junior, Bidwell Junior, or Chico Junior.  The junior high schools offer some exceptional electives that are not available in the Oak Bridge online format.

Can students take online classes through Oak Bridge AND be involved in high school athletics in the Chico Unified School District?

Students may participate in athletics at the CUSD high schools. Students living in the Chico High attendance area may play sports for Chico High, and those living in the Pleasant Valley area may play at Pleasant Valley.

Can students living outside the Chico Unified School District attendance boundaries enroll in online classes at Oak Bridge?

Students residing outside of CUSD attendance boundaries may enroll full time at Oak Bridge. The enrollment process proceeds just as it would if an out-of-area student was leaving one school to attend another in Chico.

CHANGING OR DROPPING A CLASS

The Counseling Department urges students to discuss course selection with a parent/guardian and school personnel prior to registration for classes. Class changes cause major disruption to classroom instruction and student learning. There are very few instances when a class change will be allowed. Changes are made for data processing errors, improper placement, or to meet a graduation requirement.

Student initiated changes must be made by the end of the second week of the fall semester. Changes made after the first week must be parent or teacher initiated. Changes will not be made based on teacher or period preference.  The last day to drop a class with no penalty is one week after the 1st progress grades are posted. After this time the class will be dropped with a fail grade (“F”) for the semester, posted to the student’s transcript. The “F” grade will impact both the GPA and athletic eligibility.
